Handcrafted iPad Cases by DODOcase

DODOcase
DODOcase iPad cases are made by hand in San Francisco, CA ($60) using a traditional bookbinding process. The case features a shell made from faux leather, inside cover, elastic closure strap, and a bamboo tray. The bamboo tray is perfectly milled to hold your iPad using four corner mounted rubber bumpers. While it’s been argued that the iPad and other e-readers are more environmentally-friendly by saving paper and reducing the number of books published, we consider this case green as well. The bamboo tray is a good starting point for sustainable materials, but the company is also socially conscious, keeping production of the cases with a local bookbinder based in San Francisco as well. According to the website, the success of the DODOcase has also revived a once struggling bookbinding business. [Image: dodocase.com]

As we mentioned, the DODOcase is built by hand, so availability is limited. Be sure to visit the DODOcase website and order your case today. Your iPad, the environment, and a local business we be very glad that you did!

Solar Hybrid Charging Case for iPhone

Surge_iPhone_Charger_by_Novothink

We’ve all been there. You’re running around (literally) town and you pull out your iPhone only to realize you’ve got 20% or less battery power. Time to charge. But, with all the running around, you may not have time to wait for the battery to charge or you need to send out that critical email or text message. The team at Novothink have come to the rescue with the first Apple licensed hybrid solar charger/carrying case for iPhone and iPod Touch. Now you can charge your phone while on the go, without cables or an electrical outlet. A built-in lithium-ion battery pack soaks up the rays so that you’ll have power when you need it. Look for the cases at their sister store Solar Arcadia. Priced around $80 they’re more expensive than similar non-solar cases, but they’ll make up for it with power to go.

White and black are currently available; blue, green, gold, and silver should arrive this summer.
